Art Forest Bathing with Linda & Andie for Adults

  • Sweetbriar Nature Center - ECSS 62 Eckernkamp Drive SMITHTOWN 11787 United States (map)

Take a moment to let go of the busy world around you and start to soak in the beauty of art and nature at Sweetbriar Nature Center.

We’ll begin with some forest bathing led by one of our wildlife educators and certified forest therapy guide Linda Lombardo. Forest bathing is translated from the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which means bathing in the forest atmosphere, or taking in the forest through our senses. It is simply being in nature and connecting with it through our senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch .

Once our senses are open and receptive to the voice of the forest, Artist-In Residence Andie Desiderio will lead us in an art making session. Where we will weave that nature into art creating connections with nature, with others, and with ourselves.

Enjoy the multitude of potential health benefits that forest bathing, art, and nature have to offer. Including reduced stress, boosted immune system, improved mood, and lowered blood pressure. Just to name a few!
